Sublingual Semaglutide should be taken exactly as directed on your prescription label and medication guide. Your label will list your prescribed volume, dosing frequency, and any instructions specific to your treatment plan.
Do not change your dose, take extra medication, or increase your dose unless instructed by your provider.
Before You Begin
Review your prescription label
Before preparing your medication, locate your prescription label and review:
The prescribed volume, listed in mL
Your dosing frequency
Any special instructions from your provider or pharmacy
Your dosing schedule is prescribed specifically for you and your needs. If anything is unclear, contact your provider or the dispensing pharmacy before taking your medication.
Managing doses during the first few months
During the first couple of months, especially at starter doses, it is normal to see little or no weight loss. These early doses may help your body adjust before the medication is increased, if an increase is part of your prescribed plan.
Many people see gradual, steady progress over time. If you are concerned or not noticing changes, contact your provider to review your treatment plan.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your medication
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Shake the bottle well before each use.
Use the provided dropper or dosing syringe to draw the prescribed amount of medication.
Step 2: Administer your medication
Place the measured dose under your tongue.
Hold it there for the amount of time listed in your prescription instructions.
Keep your mouth closed while holding the medication under your tongue.
Avoid talking, swallowing, moving around, or lying down while the medication is being held in place.
After the instructed time has passed, swallow any remaining liquid.
Follow any additional instructions on your prescription label, including how long to wait before eating, drinking, or taking other medications.
Holding the dose under your tongue longer may improve absorption.
When to take your medication
Take your medication at the same time according to your dosing schedule. Many patients prefer to take it in the morning before eating or at night before bed. Choose a time that works best for your schedule and allows you to hold the medication under your tongue without interruption.
If you miss a dose
Do not increase or double the amount to make up for the missed dose.
Resume your schedule as normal with your next planned dose.
Do not take multiple doses at one time.
Storage and handling
Store medication at room temperature, tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Do not refrigerate medication unless otherwise instructed by the pharmacy.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Do not share your medication
