How Do I Take BPC-157?

Taking BPC-157

BPC-157 is administered as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection, five days a week — Monday through Friday. Unlike most peptides, injection site selection with BPC-157 is clinically meaningful: where you inject can influence the effect. Your care team will guide you based on your specific indication.

Preparing Your Injection

Gather your supplies Each BPC-157 shipment includes everything needed for your protocol. Before your first injection, confirm you have:

  • BPC-157 vial (pre-mixed solution, ready to inject)
  • 31-gauge insulin syringes (1cc)
  • Alcohol swabs
  • Sharps container

A pamphlet with detailed instructions is included with your shipment.

Drawing your dose Your standard dose is 20 units drawn into a 31-gauge insulin syringe directly from the vial.

  • Clean the vial top with an alcohol swab before each draw
  • Insert the needle and draw back to 20 units
  • Check for air bubbles and clear them before injecting

Your care coordinator can walk you through this if you have questions — the pamphlet in your shipment also covers this step.

Storing your vial Keep your BPC-157 refrigerated between 35°F and 38°F. Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight. Use within 30 days of receiving your shipment.

Choosing Your Injection Site

BPC-157 should be injected subcutaneously near the injury site or the area you are targeting:

  • Back of the arm (tricep area)
  • Lateral (side) of the thigh
  • Abdomen

For musculoskeletal conditions, injecting proximal to (near, but not directly into) the target tissue concentrates the local angiogenic and repair effect at the site of injury. For gastrointestinal conditions, the abdomen or thigh are appropriate — systemic delivery is effective for gut mucosal healing.

Your care team will provide specific site guidance based on your indication. If you are unsure, contact them before your first injection.

Do not inject directly into tendons, ligaments, or joints.

Performing the Injection

  1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water
  2. Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry
  3. Pinch the skin lightly to create a small skin fold
  4. Insert the 31-gauge needle at approximately a 45-degree angle
  5. Draw back slightly to confirm you are not in a blood vessel
  6. Inject slowly and steadily
  7. Withdraw the needle and apply gentle pressure with a clean swab — do not rub
  8. Dispose of the used needle and syringe in your sharps container
