What Should I Do If I Am Having Side Effects at My Current Microdose?

Do not increase your dose without guidance from your healthcare provider.

If you experience mild side effects, log your symptoms in the Direct Meds patient portal. Contact your care team if symptoms persist, worsen, or become bothersome.

If your symptoms are significant, stop taking your medication and contact your care team promptly. Your provider may recommend staying at your current dose longer, lowering your dose, temporarily holding treatment, or making another adjustment based on your symptoms.

Seek immediate medical attention for severe or concerning symptoms, including severe abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling of the face, mouth, or tongue. Do not wait for a response through the patient portal.

Alert
If you experience serious side effects while taking a GLP-1 medication—such as severe or persistent abdominal pain (especially if it spreads to your back), repeated vomiting or inability to keep fluids down, or yellowing of your skin or eyes—go to the nearest emergency department for evaluation.
