How Should I Clean and Maintain My Intranasal Medication Bottle?

Proper handling of your nasal spray bottle helps maintain cleanliness and supports consistent medication administration.

After each use:

  • Wipe the nasal spray tip.

  • Replace the protective cap securely.

  • Return the medication to the refrigerator as instructed.

  • Keep the bottle protected from direct sunlight.

  • Store the medication away from children and pets.

Never share your nasal spray bottle with another person.

If the medication has not been used for several days, the Quick Start Guide recommends priming the pump with one activation before administering the next dose.

Any remaining medication should be discarded after the applicable expiration period.

For information about safe medication disposal, visit the FDA's medication disposal resources at FDA.gov/drugdisposal.
