Wash hands and sanitize the injection area (abdomen or upper thigh).

Draw 20 units (0.2 mL) from the vial using an insulin syringe in the first week and 50 units (0.5 ml) in following weeks. 

Inject slowly into the subcutaneous tissue.

Rotate injection sites to avoid irritation.

Dispose of the syringe in a sharps container.
