Can Microdosing Tirzepatide Still Cause Serious Side Effects?

Can Microdosing Tirzepatide Still Cause Serious Side Effects?

Yes.

Although the dose is lower, microdosing tirzepatide can still cause serious adverse effects associated with GLP-1 medications.

These may include conditions such as:

  • Pancreatitis

  • Gallbladder problems

  • Dehydration

  • Kidney problems related to dehydration

  • Severe or persistent vomiting

  • Significant slowing of stomach or intestinal movement

If you are experiencing side effects, please log your symptoms within the Direct Meds patient portal and contact your healthcare provider if they continue or become bothersome.

Seek immediate medical care for severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, inability to keep fluids down, severe weakness or dehydration, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.  Do not wait for a response through the patient portal.

Alert
If you experience serious side effects while taking a GLP-1 medication—such as severe or persistent abdominal pain (especially if it spreads to your back), repeated vomiting or inability to keep fluids down, or yellowing of your skin or eyes—go to the nearest emergency department for evaluation.
